Tom Giles is a musician, generative artist and creative coder based in London.

He releases music under the name The Electric Word, and works with generative systems, simulations and procedural drawing to produce algorithmic artworks.

His visual work is written in JavaScript using p5.js and WebGL. He explores the politics of multi-agent systems, network formation and emergent behaviour. These systems are often inspired by biological models such as flocking and swarming simulations.

Tom has released four generative art collections on platforms such as fxhash.xyz and highlight.xyz, and his work has been exhibited online and collected internationally. He has written about his art for Fully Human.

Alongside his artistic work he develops web applications professionally, principally using Ruby on Rails.

He studied Mathematics and Philosophy, at St. Anne's College, Oxford University. His academic background informs his interest in politics, computation, and the philosophical implications of algorithmic systems.
